HeartSaver® First Aid
The American Heart Association’s HeartSaver® First Aid course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.
This American Heart Association First Aid course meets all OSHA requirements.
The First Aid course is offered in two formats – Instructor led in person or online-blended. Both options cover all of the following:
- List the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of first aid rescuers
- Describe the key steps in first aid
- Remove protective gloves
- Find the problem
- Describe the assessment and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke
- Use an epinephrine pen
- Control bleeding and bandaging
- Recognize elements of common injuries
- Recognize elements of common illnesses
- Describe how to find information on preventing illness and injury
- Recognize the legal questions that apply to first aid rescuers
Instructor Lead Training
The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid Course is a classroom, Instructor-led course designed to prepare students to provide first aid in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
Upon successful completion of the course, including a first aid skills demonstration, students receive a Heartsaver First Aid course completion card.
Our instructor will come to you, or you may come to our location in Corpus Christi.

Blended Learning (Heartsaver® First Aid Online)
Heartsaver First Aid Online uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students first aid knowledge and skills.
After completing the online portion, students attend a structured first aid Hands-On Session with our AHA Instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice and skills testing. For the Hands-On Session, our instructor will come to you, or you may come to our location in Corpus Christi.
You must bring your proof of completion of online portion to your Hands-On Session, or e-mail proof to the instructor at least 24 hours prior to the session.

HeartSaver® CPR AED
The American Heart Association’s HeartSaver® CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner..
The Heartsaver CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.
The CPR AED course is offered in two formats – Instructor led in person or online-blended. Both options cover all of the following:
- Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
- Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
- Recognize when someone needs CPR
- Perform high-quality CPR for an adult
- Describe how to perform CPR with help from others
- Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
- Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult
- Perform high-quality CPR for a child
- Demonstrate how to use an AED on a child
- Perform high-quality CPR for an infant
- Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
- Demonstrate how to help a choking infant

The AHA’s CPR AED Course is a classroom, Instructor-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants.
Upon successful completion of the course, including CPR and AED skills demonstration, students receive a Heartsaver CPR AED course completion card, valid for two years.
