BLS – Basic Life Support

BLS – Basic Life Support

The American Heart Association’s BLS Course provides the foundation for saving lives from cardiac arrest. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.

The BLS course is offered in two formats – Instructor led in person or online-blended. Both options cover all of the following:

  • CPR / AED / Care of Choking
  • Adult / Child / Infant
  • Two-rescuer scenarios
  • Use of the bag mask
  • Team Dynamics
  • Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction
  • Hands-on Practice / Skills Test
  • Follows 2015 AHA guidelines

After completing the online portion, students attend a structured BLS Hands-On Session with our AHA Instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing.
